Here at Conwy Valley Windows in Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno we proudly boast a fantastic range of modern PVCu windows, as well as an equally impressive range of more traditional windows.

Double glazing comes as standard with all of our windows. Please view our triple glazing range and installation service. All of our windows come in a wide range of finishes and colours, because we want to offer you a great deal of choice and thereby provide you with windows which perfectly complement your home.

We use state-of-the-art technology which can create a number of effects on our PVCu windows – such as an unbelievably realistic wood grain look. If, on the other hand, you are a traditionalist who is specifically after genuine wooden windows, we are proud to tell you that we offer a great variety of quality timber-framed windows which are double glazed just like our PVCu ones.

We can install almost any sort of window – bay and bow included. If you need your existing bay or bow windows replacing, we can do that easily. No job is too big or too small for us, and we’ll be there to assist you throughout the work in order to provide you with help and guidance should you be a little uncertain as to which window choice would be best for you. As long as we complete the job to your vision and expectation, we couldn’t be happier.

We are specialists and innovators in the field of glazing, and can produce work of an unbeatable quality regardless of the materials we are using – whether it’s PVCu, timber, bevelled glass or coloured glass. Every job we undertake is completed in a thorough and professional manner by our friendly installation specialists.

Double Glazing

It could be said that double glazing is becoming the standard throughout the United Kingdom. It is more commonly referred to as ‘double glazing’ but is also known as ‘insulated glazing’ as well – quite simply because one of its main advantages is that it retains heat much better than single glazing. This is why we don’t offer installation of the latter – because we want to give our customers glazing that could save them money in the long run, as well as make them much more comfortable in their home environment. Other huge comfort advantages that double glazing offers include dramatically reduced noise pollution, a reduced risk of damp and mold, and better general aesthetics all around. In addition to that, if you come to sell your house, double glazing tends to be much more attractive to prospective buyers.

As opposed to being one pane of glass which is double the thickness of single glazing, double glazing is actually two panes of glass with a space of air between them, which is known as the ‘spacer’. This dramatically reduces the amount of thermal energy which is lost through your windows.

Timber Windows

Though many people are opting for PVCu windows these days, we at Conwy Valley understand that some homes simply do not suit PVCu, whilst some customers are more traditional in their tastes and would just prefer the look and feel of timber windows. For this reason, we offer installation services on a wide range of timber-framed windows. Because ours are double glazed, they will be just as energy efficient as our PVCu windows, and will also thereby offer the same fantastic noise-cancelling and general comfort benefits.

Our timber frames are treated specially in order to maximise their longevity and ensure that they remain impervious to the elements. Many people are put off timber windows because they fear they will not be as efficient and effective as PVCu windows, but with our timber windows this is not the case – they are just as fit for the purpose of providing a 21st century standard of comfort and insulation.

Triple Glazing

If you would like to go one step further, triple glazing could be just what your home needs. Whilst double glazing consists of two panes of glass with a space in between, triple glazing is another space and another pane of glass, meaning that there are even more heat retention benefits, even more outside noise reduction, and an even further reduced risk of the development of damp and mold. Triple glazing aims to prevent heat from escaping, but solar energy and heat will most definitely still come in.

Though triple glazing is more expensive than double glazing, its benefits are immediately noticeable when you upgrade. That is not to say that triple glazing makes double glazing seem ineffective in terms of blocking out noise from the outside environment and reducing the chance of damp and mold developing, it just takes it to another level.

If you have any wonders or queries about triple glazing and whether it could improve the level of comfort in your home (which it most certainly does), give us a call today and we will explain exactly why it is so ingenious and effective.

PVCu Windows

PVCu windows are becoming the norm throughout the United Kingdom due to the convenience they offer. They are incredibly easy to clean and maintain, and do not warp or lose their shape like some older wooden windows can do. PVCu stands for ‘polyvinyl chloride Un-plasticised’, and this is created by the conversion of several natural materials. It is also environmentally advantageous as well, as PVCu can be recycled for hundreds of years from now.

If you would like to convert your home’s windows to PVCu or would like to know more about them, please give us a call as soon as possible – we will answer any questions you could possibly have – we are PVCu experts after all! Alternatively, drop us an email with your query and we’ll get back to you very quickly.

Tilt-and-Turn Windows

Windows which have tilt-and-turn mechanisms are becoming more and more popular. The mechanism by which the windows open means that they open more fully than traditional windows – the whole window opens. This is fantastic for ventilation in the spring and summer months, meaning that your home will be much fresher and cooler, whilst throughout the rest of the year (when they will be shut for the vast majority of the time), the double glazing will mean that your tilt-and-turn windows act just as well as the more traditional types of windows, in regards to heat retention and reductions in noise pollution and the risk of damp and mold.

If you have any questions about tilt-and-turn windows (for example, if you would like a better insight into how they function or look), please give us a call – one of our friendly and helpful members of staff will run you through it.

Bay Windows

If you currently have a bay window within your home and you would like to upgrade it, Conwy Valley can do the job. We specialise in the installation of bay windows, as they are an extremely popular window format and always will be, as they let in lots of light, allow you more floor space and they can increase the aesthetic value of your house from the exterior. Bay windows have always been rather desirable, and we can ensure that ours are no different; we can replace your existing ones with more modern options, or we can ensure the traditional look and feel of your home is maintained throughout your new window installation.

Coloured Glass Windows

If you have a period stained glass window set-up for your home – or have any one-off stained glass windows in your home – and would like to increase its energy efficiency, we can fit one of our coloured glass encapsulation units in order to save you money in the long run. Stained glass windows, though beautiful, can often be rather inefficient when it comes to keeping in the heat you have paid a lot of money for. Our encapsulation units offer the perfect solution to this, as they allow you to keep this classic and unique feature of your home, whilst also reducing your energy bills. The encapsulation unit works by a pane of glass being fitted on either side of your stained glass window – so in essence this creates a triple glazing set up. You will notice the benefits instantly, and the investment will thereby prove its worth.

Coloured Window Frames

Though white is arguably the most popular colour of window frames in the United Kingdom today, we appreciate that white is not everybody’s colour, for one reason or another – whether their home just doesn’t suit it, or they would simply like to go with another colour.

For this reason, we can offer our customers window frames in a rainbow of colours – we pride ourselves here at Conwy Valley on the variety we continue to offer our customers. We indeed do care very much about providing windows which are energy efficient and functional, but we also care about their aesthetics too. The look of your home dictates to a large extent how comfortable you feel there, so if you would like to upgrade to coloured window frames, give us a ring today – our staff can answer any queries you may have whatsoever.

Bow Windows

Many people confuse bow and bay windows, but bow windows are an entirely different style of window. Bow windows offer more advantages in terms of letting light into your home, and are aesthetically striking and attractive. From the inside, they give your much more windowsill space, not to mention the improved view out of the window. Many bow window set-ups incorporate a number of windows which can be opened, meaning that during the warmer parts of the year you will enjoy much better ventilation and air circulation.

Bevelled Glass

A fantastic way of adding a great deal of character to your home is through the implementation of bevelled glass. It draws attention to your windows and makes it rather interesting to look at – it is a bit more striking and memorable. Bevelled glass is a classic look which is not affected by changes in trends or fads – it’s truly timeless. So, if you were to get bevelled windows installed, you can be sure that they will be attractive if or when you come to sell your house on in the future.
